Job Description :
The Red Hat OpenStack team is seeking a solutions architect or consultant to join us as an OpenStack Technical Specialist. In this role, you will promote the adoption and deployment of our OpenStack solutions in key enterprise accounts, government agencies, and service provider partners. You'll work with key customers both on-site and remotely to build a relationship of trust and confidence between Red Hat and the customer's engineering, development, and operations teams. As an OpenStack Technical Specialist, you will gain an understanding of the customer's business needs and align them with the capabilities of our Red Hat OpenStack solutions, as well as design and deliver evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and pilot implementations. We'll need you to have an excellent working knowledge of cloud architectures, their supporting infrastructures, and scripting languages.
Primary job responsibilities :
- Deliver OpenStack workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions
- Scope evaluations and guide customers through successful proof-of-concepts and pilot deployments
- Deliver and support high-quality OpenStack proof-of-concepts and pilots for local regional teams
- Serve as the customer's advocate with internal teams to architect the best solution and ensure it is implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way.
- Design and deliver content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell, service, and support our OpenStack solutions at scale
- Work closely with internal product teams, Product Engineering, Professional Services, Support, and Sales to ensure a world-class customer experience with Red Hat products
- Be the subject matter expert for customers to build long lasting relationships
- Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk
- Demonstrate thought leadership in the virtualization and cloud arenas by producing world-class white papers, webinars, etc., and speaking at industry leading conferences
Job Requirements :
- 7+ years of experience in a related technology position, e.g. consulting, pre-sales, operations, development, and related internships
- Background in pre-sales or consultative customer engagement with a major professional services organization or within the services division of a major software company or customer IT department
- Extensive technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies, e.g. OpenStack, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV), VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer
- 5+ years of experience with cloud and Linux technologies
- 3+ years of experience with automation frameworks and tools like Puppet, Ansible, or CFEngine is preferred
- Passion for open source software, tooling, and automation
- Advanced skills with command-line tools and scripting languages like Python
- Experience with the design and operation of medium to large-scale enterprise and cloud infrastructures, databases, and application systems with high-availability requirements
- Great verbal and written communication skills, including extensive experience presenting to IT managers and C-level executives at large firms
- Solutions sales mentality in an environment with multiple products and services
- Willingness to travel up to 70%
