Job Description :

  • To support the architecture process by positioning the benefits of data, convincing the business on the alignment of data to the vision, and to provide considered advice to objections
  • Specifies and designs large or complex data systems, covering for example: objectives, scope, constraints (such as performance, resources etc.), hardware, network usage and software through the describing of information flows, data load and data implementation strategies, phasing of data migrations, and the impact on data quality and integrity.
  • Develop, implement and promote improved standards, data architectures and best practice. Carry out skills transfer to colleagues, partners, vendors and clients.
  • In consultation with more senior management and taking account of enterprise and solutions architectures agrees appropriate data design standards, methods and tools and ensures they are applied effectively within projects and BAU activities.
  • Assesses software packages on their ability to meet all or parts of specified data requirements and advises colleagues and management on their technical suitability.
  • Considers the lifetime value of solutions and systems that process, analyse or use information. Define appropriate Data Governance processes for the operational and successful support of business.



Job Requirements :
  • Extensive experience in the architecture and design of complex multi-tier solutions.
  • Production of data models in transactional and analytic data architectures.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting major deliverables and status reports to Steering Committees and client senior management.
  • Experience in the preparation and /or the review of contracts for the delivery of services and software to meet business requirements.
  • Experience in effective working in cross functional teams.
  • Proven ability in the creation and implementation of appropriate architectures and solutions that align to the business environment.
  • Ability to assess the business architecture principles (or derive these) and position data capabilities that enhance and advance the organization.
  • Assessment and resolution of complex data issues and problems with data within a production or support environment.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting written deliverables and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ability to be confident when being challenged about processes, business capabilities, use of data and maintain professional attitude to conflict resolution.
  • Proven background in prioritizing multiple activities and meeting established timeframes.
  • Expert In Data Architecture (architecture covering Business models, technology models and innovation, Information and usage of, as well as knowledge of database environments, technologies and reporting applications, solutions and tools ) and in particular information integration methods and patterns.
  • Expert in Data Warehouse design including ETL and data modeling.
  • Expert in methods used for rendering information via different channels; and staging that information.
  • Expert in the different methods and ways to integrate data into corporate systems.
  • Expert in the governance control and management of IT systems from a business and from an IT provisioning perspective.
  • Expert In emerging technologies, methods and techniques affecting Analytic architectures or interpretation of information.
  • Commercially aware of the comments, risks and issued discussed with architects and how these may impact a particular sale.
  • Knowledgeable in IT Governance models and methods.
  • Proficient in Metadata management concepts.
  • Expert In data and user security concepts.
  • Familiar with architecture (servers, tiers, tools).
  • Proficient in usage of the data model, transactional analysis.
  • Proficient in Data licensing models, TCO, ROI and Value and Benefits analysis.
  • Knowledgeable In use of reporting tools and techniques (drill-down, drill-through, slice & dice etc).
  • Proficient In application integration and risks.
  • Knowledgeable In process and data integration and the effects of such integration on business level service agreements.
